August 2020 Newsletter I GET TO go to work today

July 25, 2020 7:41 pm Published by Comments Off on August 2020 Newsletter I GET TO go to work today

I get to go to work today     “I GET to go to work today.” Have you heard this comment lately? Probably not. It’s more common to hear people say, “I have to go to work today,” as if their job is a burden instead of an opportunity. Maybe you’ve even said it yourself.   Having a grateful mindset can completely change your viewpoint on work. I have experienced this personally. Want to prove it to yourself? Tomorrow morning when you’re getting ready for work, say “I get to go to work today.” Say it out loud. Then say it again the next day and every day after that. Starting your workday on a positive note will change your attitude for the rest of the day.   Believe it or not, when you say “I have to go to work” you are setting yourself up for failure before you start working. No one wants to do things they have to do, but we all want to do things that we get to do. I believe that going to work is a true luxury, mostly because I am grateful and take nothing for granted. Look at all the people out there who would love to be able to say they have a job or a career that they like. They would jump at the opportunity to say they GET to go to work today.   “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you...

July 2020 Newsletter FOCUS: Take charge of your time

June 25, 2020 3:51 pm Published by Comments Off on July 2020 Newsletter FOCUS: Take charge of your time

February 2017 newsletter     Focus: Take charge of your time   A key component of success in any career is single-minded focus. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, two of the world’s wealthiest people, have said that they owe their success to this trait. According to Buffett biographer Alice Schroeder, in 1991 when Bill Gates’ dad asked Buffett and Gates to name the most important factor in their success, they both gave the same answer: “Focus.”   In the dictionary focus comes before success, and the same thing is true in life. If you intend to take charge of your career, you must be laser-focused on your mission and your objectives.   One of my favorite motivational thought leaders, Tony Robbins, says it best: “Most people have no idea of the giant capacity we can immediately command when we focus all of our resources on mastering a single area of our lives.”   Robbins’ statement defines my career. For more than 30 years I have been laser-focused on one industry – real estate. I have been introduced to a variety of business opportunities, get-rich-quick schemes, and partnerships along the way. Some of those things grabbed my attention for a short time, but I always knew that if I focused on selling real estate and training real estate agents I would eventually become an expert. Instead of allowing myself to become sidetracked, I took charge of my career by staying focused.   If your career involves leadership, sales, or service, you...

—Carolyn Summerton // First Mortgage Company of Idaho

I enjoyed your seminar and its focus. I was on the fence whether or not to attend and decided why not? I could have sat through an all day session if there was one, usually I end up at the seminars that start with a focus and quickly go astray. I found with yours time flew by too fast and it was already time to go but I wasn’t ready to go.”
