March 2023 Newsletter You can be The G.O.A.T.
YOU can be the G.O.A.T.
If you’re a sports fan, you know that “G.O.A.T.” means “Greatest Of All Time.” This category includes people like LeBron James, who broke the all-time scoring record in basketball, and Tom Brady, the greatest NFL quarterback in existence. But the G.O.A.T. concept also applies to high achievers in other fields. In the financial world, for example, Warren Buffett is a proven financial genius and true G.O.A.T. The list goes on and on.
My question is why not you? Why can’t you be the G.O.A.T.—the greatest of all time—at whatever you are doing? I’ll answer that question for you. You can! First, you must believe you can do this. Then you have to put in the work… yes, that four-letter word W-O-R-K… which means creating a discipline, making a plan, and sticking to it.
You can work towards being the greatest of all time in whatever you are doing, no matter what it might be. You can focus on becoming the G.O.A.T. as a sales rep…receptionist…service provider…business owner…supervisor…or parent. If something is important to you, then you can strive to be the greatest of all time in it. And guess what: Even if you don’t get there, I can guarantee that striving to be the G.O.A.T. will put you in a better place than you were before you had this attitude.
“Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.” —Wilma Rudolph
People often limit themselves to what they think they can do, but this also means that you can go as far as your mind lets you. One of my favorite authors, Napoleon Hill, said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” That is one of my all-time favorite quotations because it is absolutely true.
“You must expect great things from yourself before you can do them.”—Michael Jordan
Speaking for myself, I not only want to be known as one of the greatest speakers, motivators, and real estate innovators of all time, but I also want to be known as the greatest of all time dad to my daughter Courtney and my four-legged son Baxter. Just the fact that I want to be the G.O.A.T. will help elevate me to become better at whatever I am doing. If you talk to my daughter and if you could talk to my dog, I believe they would both agree that I’m trying to be that person. Maybe you want to be the greatest of all time at being kind to others and having a servant’s heart. If that’s true for you, go for it! The world needs you now more than ever. Kindness is not as common as it used to be.
“Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Don’t bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.” —William Faulkner
My message to you today is that you have the God-given ability to be the greatest at anything you choose to do. You just have to want it badly enough. Once you have the drive, desire, and determination to do it, then creating discipline will be the easy part. Remember that you don’t have to be great to get started, you just have to get started to be great!
Each of us can be really good at anything we want to be, as long as we take the necessary steps. Unfortunately, a lot of us choose to be less than average. If you want to be the greatest of all time, you cannot accept being average. Always aim higher. One of the best outcomes of this attitude is that everybody in your sphere will benefit: your coworkers, family, supervisor, employees, friends, and customers.
We each have the ability to do this, which means we also have the responsibility to do it. Now is the perfect time to focus on becoming the greatest of all time.
