You are a VIP!
Do you think of yourself as a VIP? You may already be a VIP without even knowing it. A VIP may be a Very Important Person or a Very Impressive Person or a Very Impactful Person or possibly a Very Influential Person. If you are raising children, being a Very Important Parent might be your highest goal.
You can be a VIP if you choose to be one. VIPs are not born – they are made. Why not live your life like a VIP? Of the five types of VIPs I mentioned, let’s talk about being a Very Impactful Person. Being impactful means you are making a difference in the lives of others. It means that your words and actions are empowering others to do the same, or at the very least you are impacting their personal or business life because you are leading by example.
Act like a VIP and you will become one
Impactful people don’t know how much they benefit another person unless they hear about it from that person. If someone is making a positive impact on your life, be sure to let them know about it. Tell them they are your VIP, and explain how they’ve helped you. When you do this, you are encouraging them to continue making a difference in other people’s lives.
Anyone can wear the label VIP if they choose to be that person. Here are a few things you can do if you want to become a Very Impactful Person.
When someone is excited about accomplishing something or reaching a goal, be twice as excited as they are and let them know how great it is and how happy you are for them. The more you respond this way, the more you will inspire and empower them to keep reaching higher.
When you find out that someone is down on their luck or life isn’t going well for them, you can step in and build them up. Remind them that their current situation is temporary, and encourage them to think about things they are grateful for. Let them know you care about them and what they are going through. Be a good listener. Very Impactful People listen carefully and digest information thoroughly so they can respond effectively and insightfully.
Set a good example for everyone around you. Very Impactful People lead others instead of following the crowd. They do not participate in gossip or talk negatively about people. They are not afraid to hold a view or opinion that is different or unique. Instead of doing what is popular, they do what is right.
Very Impactful People strive to be successful in whatever they do, whether they are a teacher, business owner, manager, salesperson, or parent. They don’t have to be the best in their field, but they use all of their God-given talents and encourage other people to do the same.
Impactful events in your life can come from people, places, or things. One of the most impactful moments of my early life was watching the movie Rocky, because this film inspired me on several levels to accomplish my goals and dreams and never give up.
When you wake up every morning, make an affirmation out loud to remind yourself of what you are capable of doing. You can tell yourself, “Today I will be a very impactful person” or “By working hard and having a positive attitude, I will encourage others to do the same.” Making these affirmations every morning will set the tone for the rest of your day.
You have the ability to become a VIP, so you also have the responsibility to make it happen. If you are interested in becoming a Very Impactful Person, why not make a list of five ways you can start making an impact right away, and then take a look at this list every day to remind yourself?
